Description

It's a very very hot summer... which makes your mind go a little bit crazy so I wanted to try something different this time.
Enjoy ! Crits are very welcome.

original size, A4 landscape. Photoshop 7, Wacom Graphire 3, about 10 hours of work.

cool idea...i love it :)

my only crit is that maybe there could be a little more something in the empty space in the top right corner...maybe a bit of a sky or something, otherwise very cool work

I'm rather confused about your aim for this image, on one hand you have a surreal city-scape and on the other are the faces (including the fish and ribbon). The two elements mentioned above aren't melding together as well as is possible. The area where a sky could be (if that was the idea) lacks a sense of depth, several more buildings beyond the current ones could add some depth to image. You did a great job creating the buildings and faces, well done.

I like to very much.

But my only crit is that I can't really link the "City" part of the name in this piece.
Okay, there is a city landscape (which I really like because of the atmospheric effect) but may be you could try something with the back ground.
Because it feels like to me like the front object is seperated from the landscape.

But I could not make something like this so still you get full credit and respect from me ;)

Thank you guys !
@dean & loneorbit, now that you mention it, I also feel the need to put something in that upper right corner... all over the second plane, actually... I will work on it further.
@ rogue
I wanted it to look and feel a bit "disassociative", after all, that is what makes it "skizoid" Thank you for the crit.

you could let a long streak of "hair" go up and out the upper right corner

Great painting! (thumbup)

very very cool.

only gripe would be that i wish the buildings dipped a bit lower so you would have had more feeling of depth.

Very nice one! I think that it would have looked even more strange if the faces were a little bit transluscent.... It would have made the city stand out more. Very well done anyways!
